In the movie, Battle Angel Alita , our heroine, Gally, a small and charming cyborg once created to be a warrior was abandoned by her creators in a public junkyard. Several years later she is discovered and reconstructed by a cyberdoctor named Daisuke Ido. With an unknown past, Gally tries to find a sense of purpose in a society of danger and desperation, where good is found too far, too few and far in between.

Battle Angel Alita orginally derived from the Manga comics Gumn Dream. With its post-apocalyptic setting this work renders social commentary about the inequilibrium of two cities through a cyberpunk aesthetic. In the Manga series, Gally is more vigilant and seeks her humanity in a militant way. In the anime, Gally is loyal to Ido and a heroine of justice.

Gally is a cyborg that seeks compassion towards the disillusioned, and the downtrodden in her junkheap and bountyhunting world. Dedicated to her creator, Doctor Ido, Gally protects victims of other bountyhunters racing to steal human and cyborg body parts to be sold in the city of Lollem.
